Completion of 12th Standard or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as separate subjects, achieving a minimum PCM average of 60%.
A minimum of 50% marks in the English language at either the 10th or 12th standard examination.
Candidates must qualify in the IMU Common Entrance Test (IMU CET). The application form for the IMU CET is available on the official website: www.imu.edu.in.
Medical Requirements:
Candidates must be physically fit for sea service in accordance with STCW 2010 norms, the Medical Rules 2000, and all relevant amendments applicable to seafarers.
Eyesight:
Visual acuity of 6/6, with or without external aids.
Maximum permitted refractive error up to ±2.5.
No colour blindness (use of corrective glasses is allowed).
Physical Standards:
Minimum height: 157 cm.
Minimum weight: 48 kg.
Age Limit:
Candidates must not exceed the age of 25 years on the date of the commencement of the course.
Please Note: Candidates who have completed or are currently undergoing pre-sea training are not eligible to apply. Applicants must possess a valid Indian Passport at the time of course commencement.
Important Instructions
Selected candidates will be required to undergo a one-year Pre-Sea Training course (B.E/B.Tech Marine Engineering) along with basic modular courses at our associated college, approved by DG Shipping, Government of India, Mumbai.
Any candidate found using unfair means or providing false information will be immediately disqualified.
The eyesight and medical standards for this career are stringent.
Candidates selected for the B.E/B.Tech Marine Engineering course, following the interview, will need to undergo a medical and psychometric test. The associated costs for these tests must be borne by the candidate.
The online test for eligible candidates will be conducted remotely. Specific dates and login credentials will be communicated to shortlisted candidates via email.
Candidates must bring original mark sheets of the 10th and 12th Class (10+2) Board Exams, along with Degree/Diploma certificates.
