GP Rating syllabus includes the combined study of Deck and Engineering subjects. This course will cover all aspects of the seafaring profession (Deck and Engine), which also include swimming, physical drills, workshop training, rope and mast climbing, lifesaving appliances usage, firefighting exercises and ship visits etc
After the training, external examinations are conducted by Board of Examination of Seafarers (BES)under D.G Shipping (Govt of India). In GP rating course students will be trained in both Deck and Engine. This course ensures higher employability of the India Seafarers in the world Markets. You can pursue this course right after completing matriculation.
Qualification: Minimum 10th Pass with at least 40% from a recognized board. Minimum 40% marks in ENGLISH subject in either 10th or 12th examination.
Age: Between 17 to 25 years at the time of the course commencement.
Eye Sight: Use of corrective lenses for eyesight is permitted but the maximum permissible limits, at entry, are 6/12 in each eye or 6/9 in better eye and 6/18 in other eye for distant unaided vision. Colour blindness is not permitted.
Age limit: Minimum 17.5 Years and Maximum 25 Years.
Medical Fitness: Should be physically fit for sea and should meet the medical standards laid by the Director General of shipping.
Minimum Height: 157 cm
Minimum Weight: 48 kg
