Instructions and Procedure for submission of Online Application Form for
Briton Marines Shipping ON BOARD TRAINING

 Pass with aggregate 40% marks in 10th Standard from a recognized Board with Science, Mathematics as subjects and with minimum 40% marks in English language.

• Pass in 2-Year I.T.I. course from Govt. Approved Institute with minimum 50% aggregate marks in final year and minimum 40% marks in English at 10th or Diploma Exam.

Candidates should be Physically Fit for Sea Service under DGS norms.

• Eyesight 6/6 without any external aids.

• No Colour Blindness

Diploma In Nautical Science

• Passed 10+2 with an average Mark of 45% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (or) B.sc in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Electronic with Physics as individual subject in one of the years with an average of not less than 55% marks in the final Year. (or) BE (or) B. Tech Degree.

• 50% Marks in English either in 10th or 12th.

• Age limit: Below 25 years at a time of commencement of course.

• Candidates should be Physically Fit for Sea Service under DGS norms

• Vision 6/6in Each eye. (Eye Glass is Not Permitted)

• No Colour Blindness

BSC Nautical Science

• Passed 10+2 with an average Mark of 45% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics

• 50% Marks in English either in 10th or 12th

• Age limit: Below 25 years

• Candidates should be Physically Fit for Sea Service under DGS norms

• Vision 6/6in Each eye. (Eye Glass is Not Permitted)

B. Tech Marines Engineering

• Passed 10+2 with an average Mark of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics

• 50% Marks in English either in 10th or 12th

• Age limit: Below 25 years at a time of commencement of course.

• Candidates should be Physically Fit for Sea Service under DGS norms

• Eyesight 6/6 with or without external aids, maximum power permitted up to ±2.5

• No Colour Blindness

Graduate in Marines Engineering

• Graduation in B. E or B. Tech - Mechanical / Naval Architecture / Automation Engineering with minimum marks of 50% in final year

• Minimum 50% marks in English either 10th or 12th or Degree

• Age limit: Below 28 Years

• Candidates should be Physically Fit for Sea Service under DGS norms

• Eyesight 6/6 with or without external aids, maximum power permitted up to ±2.5

• No Colour Blindness

Important Instructions for the Candidates those who Pursuing the Dg Shipping Approved Pre Sea-Course

  1. It is mandatory for all candidates to appear and qualify in the Selection Process of the Company.
  2. It is Mandatory for all candidates to clear the final examination of the Pre-Sea Training (If pursuing the pre sea course)
  3. Selected Candidate Shall Go for the On-Board Training at Company Managed Vessel.
  4. Selected candidates have to Pass the Marlin Seafarer Test with Minimum 60%.
  5. Candidate Must Clear his Pre- sea training in 1 Attempt
  6. Prior to starting their Shipboard Training, the Trainee will have to enrol in the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) approved Structured Shipboard Training Programme (SSTP).
  7. Any candidate found using unfair means or having made false representations, will be disqualified immediately.
  8. The eyesight and medical standards in this career are quite strict.
  9. If selected, after the interview the candidate will have to undergo psychometric test, the cost of which (approximate Rs.7200, seven thousand two hundred) will have to be paid by the candidate.
  10. Online tests for eligible candidates, Will take place at their own location (Dates of Online test and login Credentials will be communicated to shortlisted candidates through email). Fees for online test will be approximately Rs.2100/- (Twenty-one-Hun
  11. Based on the performance in Online test, if you are shortlisted for interview:
    a) Please bring original mark-sheets of the 10th, 12th & The Degree and Diploma Class Documents.
    b) All expenses incurred by way of traveling, boarding, lodging, etc during the selection procedure will have to be borne by the candidate.
  12. If the Candidate are undergoing for the Pre – Sea Training He must hold the Valid Documents as mentioned. Indian CDC, Pre – sea training Certificate, Valid Indian Passport, STCW certificate, STSDSD Certificate, Indos Certificate & Other Mandatory documents.

Selection Process

Step 1 Apply online at https://britonmarine.com/
Step 2 You will receive a link over e- mail for an online examination that can be taken at any location. You will need to have a proper internet connection. The login details as well as other instructions shall be provided in the e-mail. Please make sure you provide us the correct credentials (e-mail and phone number).
Step 3 If you clear the test as per the marks mentioned in the online examination section, you shall receive an e-mail invite to appear for personal Interview Online. The details of the Interview will be sent on the e-mail. The interview is decided in advance and is at the sole discretion of SMS Candidate shall not be given a preference to choose a date.
Step 4 Those candidates who are selected in the personal interview shall undergo a Online Psychometric test.
Step 5 A selected candidate shall be informed through email, taking into account past academic scores, online examination scores, interview scores as well as Psychometric examination results.
Step 6 The candidates who are selected Company Shall issue a Sponsorship letter to Complete his On-Board Training Either on Main Fleet or else Offshore Vessel As per the Availability. They will also be asked to submit or else send necessary documents.

About the Online Entrance Test

Briton Marines Shipping online entrance exam will be a 2 hours online exam, syllabus for which is listed in the Link below. The cut off marks shall be communicated to you through email / Application at a time of online test along with the online test login credentials. All Questions are MCQ Based. Note Briton Marines Shipping has not authorized any agency/individual to offer a sea-time opportunity at Briton Marines Shipping. About the Online Interview Interview Duration shall be on 30 Minutes & the Interviewer will ask the Question related to the syllabus of Pre-sea Course. About the Psychometric test The Psychometric Test Shall be 1:30 Minutes and this Test Doesn’t have any Syllabus to Refer, The Psychometric tests measure both cognitive ability and agility. Different tests challenge specific skills such as comprehension, arithmetic ability or a candidate's approach and attitude. commonly focus less upon knowledge and more on problem-solving ability and accuracy under pressure. The tests are designed to reveal if prospective candidates have the traits sought for the job role in question. & also to judge how a candidate will handle routine tasks, interact with co-workers and cope in stressful situations.
